The short version

Who we are

Suntide ("we") is the data controller for suntide.energy. Contact: hello@suntide.energy.

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist we store your email address, the page you signed up from, and your inverter brand if you told us. We send one confirmation email (double opt-in); if you don't confirm, the record deletes itself within 30 days. Confirmed members receive launch-related email only. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your record immediately — lawful basis: consent (UK/EU GDPR art. 6(1)(a)).

The Suntide service (when it launches)

Running Suntide for your household will involve: your account email; your inverter connection credentials (encrypted with a dedicated KMS key, decrypted only inside the collection service, never returned by any interface); telemetry from your system (power, energy, battery state, configuration); and your tariff details. Lawful basis: performance of a contract. Detailed retention: five-minute readings are kept 90 days, daily summaries for the life of your account.

Where your data lives

All service data is stored in Amazon Web Services region eu-west-2 (London). Transactional email is sent through AWS in the same region.

Processors

Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL (hosting and email delivery, eu-west-2). Payment processing (Stripe) will be added before paid subscriptions launch and this page updated. The full list, with roles, is on the data processing page.

Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection — under UK and EU GDPR. In the product, export-my-data and delete-my-account are built in. For anything else, email hello@suntide.energy. You can also complain to the ICO (UK) or your local supervisory authority.

Cookies

The marketing site sets no cookies. The app uses only the strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. That's why there's no cookie banner.
